Can’t wait any longer, me and a few friends arranged a time to visit Si Ma Cai near Sapa Vietnam. This land is both strange and familiar as an embellishment for our youthful years. The land offers so many unprecedented experiences during the past youth days, where every emotion is felt bit by bit, deeply, joyfully and, even regretfully.
The car ride that night took us, the people who went to find our longing to come to this land. The car started from Hanoi to Bac Ha near Sapa Vietnam, then our group rented a motorbike to go to Simacai district. Located about 10 km from Bac Ha town, we stopped at Can Cau market, the market is not too prominent, nor luxurious or splendid. The temporary houses, old and outdated, seemed like they could fall at any time. However, the market was very crowded and bustling, each group of people passing by laughing, trading, and bustling. Listen to the people here recount, the market was founded by the Mong and Giay people, but trade and exchange according to the customs of the Dao.
Also part of the luck for the trip, we were able to mingle with the flow of people in the market, visit and understand a bit more about the meaning of the fairs here. Like the big market of Bac Ha town near Sapa Vietnam, the market only opens every Saturday and major holidays.
