An artifact that proves the fairly developed ceramic processing technique of the Man Bac people is a mushroom-shaped object. This is a tool used to make pottery. This shows that pottery in Bo Bat has formed and developed since then. However, in 1010, the skilled artisans of the craft village followed the Ly court to move the capital to Thang Long and settled in the area along the Red River, where there was good clay to produce ceramics and create a pottery village. Bat Trang porcelain is famous today.

After the good artisans who followed the court left Thang Long to establish a new pottery-making ward, the people of Bo Bat could no longer keep their traditional profession, gradually those who stayed mainly planted rice and farmed to live and wander. Forget the once flourishing profession. The profession of Bo Bat ceramics has been “lost” since then. However, many generations of Bo Bat villagers have always wondered how to restore their father’s profession.

In 2001,…

In 2001, with the determination to restore the traditional profession of his father, Pham Van Vang – the son of Bach Lien (formerly Bo Bat) went to Bat Trang to learn pottery making. With the care and help of artisans who are dedicated to supporting the children of the old craft, in 2003, Vang learned a job and returned to his hometown to build a career. In 2004, Mr. Vang recruited 10 laborers with love for pottery to Bat Trang to learn a trade and start producing pottery in his hometown. In 2011, after well-prepared for production conditions such as factories, labor, machinery, and raw materials, Mr. Pham Van Vang established Bo Bat Pottery Private Enterprise near Tam Coc Ninh Binh, expanding production scale, built 300m2 of factories, purchased more kilns, earth crushers… created jobs for nearly 20 local workers.
